Last week for Cross Country Running!   Friday, October 7 is the Borough Meet in Kenai at 3:00 pm.

Washington DC/NYC Field Trip: 8th Grade students interested in the Washington, DC/NYC trip need to see Ms. Dwyer in the big gym for online registration information as soon as possible. The trip dates are the first week of summer: 5/25-5/31/2017. Trip includes all expenses: food, hotel, airfare to and from Anchorage, busses and entrance fees.  A few highlights of the trip are: the Nation’s capital, the Smithsonian Museum Complex, George Washington’s home, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Statue of Liberty, Times Square and a Broadway Show.  Space is limited – sign up ends Oct 7, 2016.

Intramural Basketball – Intramural Basketball begins Monday, October 10!   All students who wish to join must turn in the required sports forms before participation.  Forms must be filled out for each sport.  All forms may be picked up at the Front Office or found online on the Skyview Middle School blog > Skyview Sports > Required Sports Paperwork.

New Date for Site Council Meeting:  The Monday, October 10 meeting has been cancelled and rescheduled to Thursday, October 13 following the 6:00 pm School District Budget Presentation.

Spirit Week – The Panther Student Council is sponsoring a Decades themed Spirit Week October 10th through the 14th!  Monday is 50s Day, Tuesday – 60s, Wednesday – 70s, Thursday – 80s, and Friday is Vintage Skyview Spirit day.  A group photo will be taken at lunch for the yearbook of all those who dress up.  Check your closets and start putting your outfits together for Spirit Week.

Activity Night – The next Activity Night will be Friday, October 14th from 2:45pm to 4:45pm.  There will be a Dance Off competition with a medley of music from the Spirit Week decades.  Wear Vintage Skyview Spirit clothing and join the activity for lots of Fall fun including a Selfie Station, Desk Ball, a Cupcake Walk and more!  Parent volunteers are always welcome and needed – please contact the office if you can help.  All volunteers must have the KPBSD volunteer screening complete beforehand.  See the KPBSD website for more information.  Any Student Council members who want to help with Activity Night should sign up on the Jobs Lists posted outside Mrs. Pothast’s classroom before Friday, October 7th.

Picture Retakes – Picture retakes are scheduled for Monday, October 24.
