Congratulations to 7th grade student Ray Chumley, October Chamber Student of the Month!

The Skyview Middle School library will host a Scholastic BookFair Friday, October 24 through Friday, November 7  from 7:30 – 2:45.  Funds raised will help purchase books for SMS classrooms and library.  Families, faculty, and the community are invited to attend this fun event that helps inspire children to become lifelong readers.  The Book Fair offers specially priced books and educational products, including popular series, award-winning titles, new releases ,adult bestsellers ,and other great reads from more than 100 publishers.  This year’s Book Fair will feature our 3rd annual Cake Decorating Contest (click here for printable contest form/rules) with entries given away as door prizes during Parent Teacher Conferences.  Participants with winning entries will receive Scholastic Book Fair gift certificates.  Entries will be accepted Monday and Tuesday, October 27 and 28 from 7:30 – 2:45.  For further information please contact librarian Anne McCabe at 260-2546.

Our Panther Student Council is sponsoring a Snack Program Donation Drive.  Please bring granola bar donations or monetary donations to Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 30th.   Donations can be dropped off at the Student Council table in the gym.  Adult and Student Council volunteers distribute nearly 250 granola bars EVERY school day to kids who are hungry!  We go through nearly 1,000 snacks per week!  Thank you for helping Student Council keep this great program going!

HUGE thanks to the After The Bell Board for their VERY generous donation to our Six Minute Snack Program! Special thanks to Ginger Steffy and Linda Hutchings and all the members of the After The Bell board for their service to our community’s youth!

Skyview Middle School Student Council would like to thank all those who made the October Activity Night such a success!  Congratulations to Limbo Winners Camden Langley, Harley Copenharve, Paige Kruse, Olivia Schwenk, and Alexis Giles.  Our Candy Jar guessing contest winners were:  Lucas Kline, Zachary Hanson, Judd Miller, and Mackenzie Powell.  Many thanks to all of our staff and parent chaperones who made the event possible!  And special thanks to decorations coordinators extraordinaire Hannah Delker and Haley Buckbee!  Panther StuCo volunteers were awesome and we appreciate you!
